An important part of their traditions is the Kanun.
The
word "kanun" originates from a Greek word -
éáipi - that it is a wood tool to draw the
astute lines. The Kanun picks up the laws transmitted
by the ancestors and not encoded, through which as Albanian
people walked a long time ago.
In
the Kanun the laws are described. It deals with the honor
and hospitality as part of the kanun but also as a virtue
of the Albanian people. In the Kanun it is said that "the
house is of God and of the guest" and to this last
the best place is left. When the guest departs you/he/she
is accompanied him/it until where he wants.
